And having a tour guide is the best way to go, again in our opinion.
For example, our second rest stop today was set for around noon to have lunch. At 11:20 our guide announced that we were here for our lunch break a little early. Now if Barb and I were driving on our own, we would have probably not stopped thinking it was too early. From the road this place looked like the typical rest stop with gas and a restaurant. Then we went inside, got some food for lunch and had another "oh wow" moment. Look at the view from our terrace at the back of this place.
Incredible. Our tour guide also makes sure when we go out for dinners that the waiters know the special dietary needs for those who have them, vegetarian, diabetic, gluten free and for me No Nuts. I know that I really appreciate this service.
So this evening, we went to another traditional Austrian restaurant outside of the city. So much more than the ordinary restaurant. Every room was covered with decorations on the ceiling and pictures on the walls.
We had a pianist playing music all through dinner and then this group got into the drink and all hell broke loose again! Everyone was up dancing in a space where waiters were trying to get through to serve tables and people were trying to get by to leave. Not the first time this has happened on this trip!
We even got our older couple from India ( who currently live in Australia ) involved after I kept pouring him more and more wine. They had a great time and again it was not the first time we have had the old guy who we affectionately call "Punjab" involved.
Tomorrow we tour Vienna in the morning, including one of the original palaces here in Vienna, then tomorrow night we attend a dinner and Viennese Concert. I wonder what this group will do here!!!
You guys are having way too much fun! Without us! You are the only Canadians in the group....so represent us well! Debbie and Bill say hi and are trying to figure out how to comment. Keep on blogging!!! :-)
